The Femme Initiative

The Femme Initiative started as a tabletop roleplaying group centered on women and femmes, including trans women and nonbinary femmes. Our tables prioritize safety, creativity, collaboration, and joyful play in an affirming, inclusive environment. Since our inception we have expanded to include more events focused on all the hobbies our members have. While TTRPGs will always be a part of what we do, we are excited about all the additional ways we get to create community.

We are aware that Femme has it’s origins in queer culture and while many of us are queer, not all of us are. The part of it’s essence I really attached to when creating this group is the part about intentionally detaching feminine expression from the male gaze. We game for us, outside of the male gaze. It is the very reason a special location was transformed for us to host some of our events in private.
